Comfort Zone | Greensboro Newborn Baby Photographer

I felt right in my comfort zone when this beautiful family walked into the studio.  Mom and Dad brought along brand new Miss E. and her two big sisters.  Three gorgeous daughters…yes, I know that scenario very well.

greensboronewbornphotographer01

I commend this family for making sure that even as the third child of the family, Miss E. has beautiful newborn portraits where she is the star of the show.  Isn’t she just dainty and perfectly girly?

An Outdoor Celebration | Winston Salem, Greensboro Photographer

Both of the cuties featured in this post had six month sessions in the studio, so to celebrate their first birthdays we were happy to head outside for their sessions.

I love Mr. S’s combo of dark hair and perfect baby skin.  He’s changed so much since his six month session and looks like a big boy now.

winstonsalemnewbornphotographer014

See those little teeth shining in this second shot?

winstonsalemnewbornphotographer023

This red wagon was one of my very first prop purchases over four years ago and it continues to be one of my favorites.

winstonsalemnewbornphotographer043

winstonsalemnewbornphotographer033

And Miss M., the firefighter baby, is one now as well.  Instead of fire gear, she brought the most beautiful blue dress to her one year session.  I loved it so much that I photographed her in it, switched to her other outfits, and then asked her parents to put her back in it to end the session!

greensboronewbornphotographer011

greensboronewbornphotographer021

Miss M., I hope the extra clothing change was worth it for these sunset shots in your classic dress.

And Baby Makes Three | Winston Salem Newborn Photographer

As I was editing this session I thought about sweet baby B and how he would like having twin big sisters as he grows up.  I’m sure that on occasion it will feel like he has too many mommy figures keeping him in line.  But just  look at the love on their faces in these photos as they welcome baby B into their family.  I think he is definitely one lucky little guy.

greensboronewbornphotographer01

I asked them to close their eyes as if they were sleeping like baby B and this is what they both did immediately. :)

greensboronewbornphotographer02

greensboronewbornphotographer03

Yet another benefit of the new studio?  After we captured these precious images of the three siblings, C and J walked with dad down to Chelsee’s for a delicious smoothie while I captured some images of baby B as the star.

Whatever the Weather | Winston Salem Children’s Photographer

Miss S’s session had already been rescheduled once due to an illness so when the date for her reschedule approached and the weather was looking grim, I was a bit disappointed.  She was traveling all the way from Chapel Hill and I really wanted to give her family some wonderful outdoor images that I knew they desired.  So outdoors we went on a cloudy afternoon with thunder rumbling and rain sprinkling.  The weather may have been grumpy but Miss S was just pure sunshine.

Version 2.0 | Winston Salem, Greensboro Newborn Photographer

After being in business for several years now, I am really getting to watch families grow.  So many families whose children I photographed as newborns are now having new babies.  It is the ultimate compliment when clients come back to see me again, especially when entrusting me to capture a new addition to their growing family.

I photographed this adorable little one, now a big sister, as a newborn and she brought her brand new baby brother by the studio a few weeks ago to introduce him to my camera.  Is there anything sweeter than a toddler’s excitement over her new baby brother?

winstonsalemnewbornphotographer012

winstonsalemnewbornphotographer021

Mr. A seems pretty pleased to be a part of this family as well:

winstonsalemnewbornphotographer031

Isn’t he just adorable…from his head:

winstonsalemnewbornphotographer041

Right down to his toes:

winstonsalemnewbornphotographer05

And although I loved the texture and tones of Mr. A’s session in black and white, we did have to capture a little color as well:

The First | Winston Salem Photography Studio

All newborns are memorable.  That’s exactly why I love capturing them so much.  Each one has a unique little face, hands and feet, expressions, head of hair.  Some are long and lean; some are compact and filled out.  But THIS newborn, this one is memorable for all those reasons and for one more…a few weeks ago he was the very first session ever in the new studio space.

I couldn’t have asked for a better first session in the studio.  I love the L family and have loved photographing their daughter, Miss E.  Their newest addition, Mr. Y, was just a delight as well.  He was a tiny little peanut and slept like a champ.

He tried to show us his beautiful eyes for a bit:

winstonsalemnewbornphotographer04

But, oh how tiring it is being an adorable one week old:

winstonsalemnewbornphotographer011

Thanks L family for being the first of many beautiful memories I hope to capture here at the new home of Uppercase Photography.

*Calendar Update:  My calendar is full for the remainder of 2010 with the exception of newborns under two weeks of age.  If you are expecting any time between now and the end of the year and are interested in a newborn session, please contact me to discuss prebooking a session.  Those who prebook their newborn session receive a complimentary set of custom birth announcements.  Email me for details.

Horsing Around | Winston Salem Child Photographer

There was so much to love about this session!  I traveled to beautiful Pilot Mountain, NC to meet this family at their home.  Not just any home though, this home was complete with open fields, an old cabin, barns, horses AND two absolutely adorable children.  We ran and played, we explored, we got lots of bug bites….and then as the sun set over the horizon they brought out a very special family member.  Their horse is getting older and mom really wanted some captures of him with the children.  He was seriously the most gentle and beautiful creature, so patient with the children and with me.  The combination of beautiful evening light, sweet horse, adorable children, gorgeous property and me with my camera made for some of my favorites of the summer.

Two | Winston Salem Child Photographer

Two year olds can be a challenging age to photograph.  They are busy and independent and stopping for photos is not usually on their “to do” list.  However, I find two year old sessions so rewarding!  After all the chasing, distracting and games I usually have a gallery full of fun photos with completely genuine expressions.  And really, what could be better than truly capturing a budding personality.

Meet a strikingly handsome two year old, Mr. I

winstonsalemchildphotographer011

How do you get a two year old to stand still for a moment?  Put rocks in his pocket. :)

winstonsalemchildphotographer031

winstonsalemchildphotographer021

Tickle time!

Girls Of Summer | Winston Salem Baby Photographer, Greensboro Children’s Photographer

It seems summer is coming to an end, but I still have so much of my summer fun to share on the blog.  Since my last post I have officially moved into the downtown studio and had my first two sessions in the space, two handsome newborn boys that I can’t wait to share with you soon.  I also had one last trip down to Topsail Island and enjoyed tons of family fun, along with shooting several awesome beach sessions.  The weather was just perfect for shooting on the beach this year!  I’ll be sharing those soon as well, but first I had to give of a peek at some of my “girls of summer” from the past few weeks.

I have had the pleasure of photographing Miss S as a newborn, at three months and now again at six months.  We ventured outside for this session and Miss S was such a trooper, staying up late for some beautiful evening light.

winstonsalemphotographer02

I love a great serious face…the eyes take center stage

winstonsalemphotographer03

This sweet girl is very, very well loved

winstonsalemphotographer01

I have photographed Miss L as a newborn and at six months.  She returned recently for a one year session and her parents warned me that she still didn’t give many smiles for the camera.  That makes these smiling pictures of Miss L even more special!

winstonsalembabyphotos01

How big is Miss L?  SO big!

winstonsalembabyphotos02

I loved this outfit and location….perfect together.

winstonsalembabyphotos03

Getting tired and all done.

winstonsalembabyphotos04

We had to reschedule Miss C’s session and by the time I photographed her she was 17 months old.  This can be such a challenging age (they can run away!) but Miss C was just a pure delight.  It was so hot on her session day and even so she was happy and adorable.  I tried very hard to resist squeezing those baby rolls but I just couldn’t help myself.  Can you blame me?

greensborobabyphotos01

greensborobabyphotos02

greensborobabyphotos03

And until next time…..mmmwah!

greensborobabyphotos04

I am continuing to book fall sessions as I can.  The spots are going so very quickly, so contact me if you are interested in a session during 2010.  I don’t anticipate having any spots left at all within the next week or two.  It will be busy, busy around the studio!
