Have you “liked” Uppercase Photography on Facebook?  Click HERE to see the Uppercase Facebook page, filled with images and announcements and be sure to press “like.”

Now that all the reminders are done, meet the cutest little baby brother ever, Baby J.

greensboronewbornphotographer01

I loved how baby J seemed to have already settled in to his role as the little brother.  His “not quite two” sister and her enthusiastic hugs and kisses didn’t seem to phase Baby J at all.

greensboronewbornphotographer021

How cute is she?  I couldn’t help letting her be the star of the show for a moment while Baby J was filling his tummy.

greensboronewbornphotographer03

I think these two are going to be best of friends and I hope I get to share in the joy of watching them grow.

Doubly Blessed | Winston Salem, Greensboro Twin Photographer

I was at the happiest place on earth when I received word that after seven weeks in the NICU, these sweet twin blessings were home together as a family.  I immediately called my photographer friend, Lina, and begged her to come do the session with me on Christmas Eve.  Yes, you know your “photographer friend” is more than just a photographer friend when she drives two hours on Christmas Eve to help you with a session. :)  The extra set of hands with two babies was invaluable and working together, look at the beauty we captured.

Meet A and A:

While chatting during their session, we discovered that A and A’s parents went to the same high school I did (they might be just a tiny bit younger..not much!  :) ) and we knew many of the same people from our small community.  What a small world!  I am honored, Samantha and Jonathan, to have been able to capture your little miracles and I hope you always treasure these images of when they were brand new.

Home | Winston Salem Newborn Photographer

Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by the Uppercase Open House on Saturday!  It was so much fun!  I enjoyed seeing old and new faces and socializing with some of my little Uppercase cuties.  I didn’t end up with lots of photos of the event as I was so busy having fun.  (Mental note:  being both the hostess and the photographer is not possible!)  But here are just a few:

openhouseblog

That’s Kaitlyn Roberts Green there in the center with me.  If you are a long-time blog reader, you may remember that I photographed her wedding back in 2009.  Kaitlyn is a talented event planner and I never could have made the Open House happen without her!  She resides in Charlotte, but if you are ever planning an event and need an expert, contact me for Kaitlyn’s information.  I would also like to say a huge “Thank You” to Imagine Flowers for donating coupons to add to our VIP bags.  Their flower arrangements are so unique and wonderful so be sure to contact them for all your floral needs.

The studio definitely feels like a great home for Uppercase Photography now and I hope you are feeling at home here as well.

I couldn’t make a post without sharing some of the wonderful newborn images I’ve been working on recently.  I have welcomed lots of babies into the studio in the past few months and couldn’t be happier.  This little sweetie was supposed to wait until Christmas to make her appearance, but she just couldn’t wait to meet her new family.  We were able to squeeze in her session at 5 days old before I headed to Florida for the Disney vacation.  She is a perfect example of why it’s so important to capture babies as soon as possible after birth.  Miss E was perfectly sleepy and content for the entire session.

To You and Yours | Winston Salem Newborn and Baby Photographer

After a magical week at the “happiest place on earth” the holiday celebrations have begun.  My sweet little ones are tucked into bed, but I do think Santa will wait at least an hour or so before arriving to our home just to be sure all is quiet as a mouse. :)

As the year comes to a close, it is overwhelming to count all the blessings bestowed this year.  I thank you sincerely for supporting Uppercase Photography in 2010 and I look forward to watching each of my Uppercase cuties grow and change in 2011.  I’ll be right there to capture it all.

The Greatest Gift | Winston Salem Newborn Photographer

It’s the time of year for giving gifts to those we love.  I have been smiling as I package order after order to send out to clients, imagining the smiles they will create when loved ones are given the gift of beautiful, custom photographs.

It is especially heart warming when I am able to capture families who have been given the greatest gift at this time of year…a new addition to their family.  Newborns are special and treasured at absolutely any time of year, but during the holiday season they just seem to add to the magic.

It was my pleasure to capture a newborn boy and girl recently and designing custom holiday cards and gifts for them to share with their loved ones featuring their images definitely added to the magic of the season for me.

What I remember most about Miss L’s session was the beautiful connection between baby and mommy.  Can’t you just see the instant and intense love of a new mother on her face?

Meet Mr. J.

greensboronewbornphotographer01

greensboronewbornphotographer03

What I remember most about Mr. J’s session was how helpful his daddy was during shooting.  Let’s face it, the idea of custom newborn photographs is most often mommy’s and sometimes I wonder if dad’s really “get it.”  But Mr. J’s dad was right there to lend a hand during this session and was so willing to do whatever it took to create beautiful images his new son.  He carried heavy props, knelt on his hands and knees to spot during poses, helped me put together and break down flooring…..anything at all that I needed during the session.  Thanks to J’s family for “getting it.” :)

greensboronewbornphotographer04

greensboronewbornphotographer02

I’ll leave you with these beauties for a while as I take my own greatest gifts to the happiest place on earth.  I am planning to be back for a special post on Christmas Eve featuring photographs of my own family.  Stay tuned!

December 27, 2010 - 11:45 pm Kel Ward - These are all stunning! Wow.

December 22, 2010 - 12:13 am Kelly Mack - I said WOW out loud when i saw that 1st pic. Just amazing!

My Boys | Winston Salem Photographer

What’s that you say?  I don’t have boys?  I am the proud mother of three beautiful girls, but no boys?  Yes, you’re right, I don’t actually have any boys BUT I tell these brothers every year that they are my boys.  I have photographed these four brothers for quite a few years now and have literally watched them grow up right before my lens.  I look forward to their session every year…..we laugh, we joke, we have fun.  This year there may have possibly been some climbing of fences, bodily noises jokes, and throwing items at each other during the session.  In the interest of everyone’s safety….I’d better not give any further details.

We shot their session at a school, so you’ll notice the use of some school items like the desk and pencils.

We may have had a bit too much fun with the pencils.  Nah, it was just the right amount of fun I think. :)

And then they got their game faces on for a few:

Thanks to the S boys for a ton of fun on a chilly day.  I can’t wait to do it again.  If I did have boys, I’d want them to be at polite, fun and adventurous as you!

I’m Here (and booking 2011!) | Winston Salem, Greensboro Photographer

I am crawling out from under the pile of holiday orders long enough to update the blog!  I hope all of you enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving and are getting in the mood for the holidays.  The beautiful snow over the weekend certainly put me in the mood for celebrating.

I will be wrapping up 2010 orders and then celebrating with my family.  I will be away from the studio from December 16th through December 26th as we take a trip to Disney and return just in time to celebrate the holidays.  Wish us luck….this Disney trip includes my parents, sisters and nine grandchildren!

In December I will be photographing only maternity and newborn sessions.  I have several newborn clients expected right around Christmas and am so excited to meet each of them!
