Think Spring | Winston Salem Children’s Photographer

I know what  you’re thinking, how can I title a blog post “Think Spring” when it’s a winter wonderland out there!?  What better time to be dreaming of spring than on day three of being stuck inside during the great NC blizzard. :)  So while it still looks like this outside:

Inside I am certainly dreaming of spring while planning a spring wardrobe for the girls.  Grace and I have agreed upon some adorable little items from MiniBoden.  But I am most excited about the clothing my girls will be wearing from Giraffikiki Kids.  I have had the pleasure of photographing items from her spring line and they are so lovely.  They remind me fields of wildflowers and long summer afternoons…can’t wait!  Here is a little preview of my girls in some of the spring line:

With three girls of my own, girl stuff is nothing new around here.  So this week I felt right at home shooting some of the most adorable little girls around.

There was Miss R, who was just an angel at her newborn session:

Where are the boys?  They’re coming….a couple this week for sure. :)

Scheduling Update:

February is booked with the exception of maternity and newborns.  Weekend dates in March are booked, but weekday morning or afternoon spots are available at this time.  The same is true of April and May.  Please email me as soon as you know you would like to book a session.  If you are expecting, please go ahead and contact me as soon as possible and I will put your due date on my calendar and give you more information regarding scheduling newborn sessions.

It’s no secret I love photographing babies.  From tiny, sleeping newborns all the way through that first amazing year, babies are a delight to capture.  Here are a few little loves that I have had the pleasure of photographing recently.

Tiny, 5 day old S was wide-eyed as she took in the new surroundings in the studio.

She did manage to catch just a few z’s during her session as well.

Three month old V also caught a few z’s during her three month session.  I could just kiss those little cheeks!

No sleeping for one year old A.  She came to party for her one year session and was full of dances and giggles!

At the end she was all danced out and I captured this….I love it!

After all those girls, a newborn boy came to visit this weekend.  A photographer friend joined me for this session and Baby A was an amazing model for us.  A special thanks to his mommy for allowing us complete creative freedom for this session.  We had so much fun!

The beautiful maternity shown here recently came back to the studio with their adorable baby girl!  Little E was so dainty and sweet, gracing us with some peaceful sleep and some big, bright eyes as well.

We laughed and laughed during her session because it seemed like every time Daddy picked her up, she peed on him!  But Daddy took it all in stride and was willing to sacrifice his clothing for beautiful shots of his baby girl.  I think she has him wrapped around that little finger already….just as it should be. :)

Don’t worry, you are in the right place!  Things are looking a bit different around here, huh?  It’s a new year and a new look for Uppercase Photography.  Back when I was an elementary school teacher, I used to just love the beginning of school…the freshly sharpened pencils, the unused crayons, the desks all neatly lined in a row.  Now, the beginning of a  new year is just like that for me and my business.  The holiday season is behind me and it is time to start fresh for 2010.  I thought a new look would be a great way to begin and I am very happy with what  my designer and I were able to achieve.  I hope you enjoy it as well!

I can’t think of a better holiday gift than this little bundle.  I drove to Asheville, NC to meet this sweet, little love and photograph him as a gift to his wonderful parents.  Congratulations J family and welcome to the world little O….may you bless your parents with lots of silent nights this holiday season.  And if not, well at least they can look at these photos and see you sleeping peacefully. :)

Can you believe that 2009 is soon coming to an end and the holiday season is in full swing?  This year has really flown by in a blur!  I am finally ready to begin booking 2010 appointments.  There will be significant changes coming to Uppercase Photography in 2010.  If you would like a 2010 appointment, please email me and I will fill you in on the details.

Whew, I just finished boxing up hundreds of holiday cards and will be headed to the post office to ship them out.  In turn, I hope they will spread holiday joy all over the world when they are sent out by my Uppercase clients to their friends and family.  And speaking of family, this post is going to feature a special family to me.  I had the pleasure of photographing my middle sister’s family (I am the youngest of three girls) over the Thanksgiving weekend.  Yes, when your little sister is a photographer  you get told what to wear, where to go and when to show up for your holiday portraits because I am squeezing you in amongst all the Uppercase clients.  Luckily, they all showed up looking gorgeous as usual and I am in love with their photos.
