It’s off to Oak Island for us this weekend.  We are hoping for peaceful travels, great weather, and plenty of family fun! :)  I will return to work on July 20th.  Because of limited access to email and internet, I will reply to all inquiries upon my return.

A Part of the Plan | Winston Salem, Greensboro Baby Photographer

I have been seeing lots of babies in front of my camera recently and they are some of my favorite subjects to capture.  I offer several plans to help parents capture their babies’  first year.  After all, there is no other time in their life when they will grow and change so much in a year.  Each milestone is certainly worth capturing and remembering.

For newborns, I offer a plan that includes maternity and newborn sessions and a plan that focuses only on your sweet, new baby.  All of these precious newborns were photographed before they were 10 days old, which is very important when capturing all those sweet newborn characteristics.

Sweet Parker was 10 days old:

Handsome Russell was 8 days old:

Lillian Grace was 9 days old:

The next time I see babies is usually at three months old when they join the “Here I Grow” baby plan.  By this time they can smile and hold their little heads up a bit better.

Meet three month old Micah:

Babies then return at six months old.  This a one of the best times to get portraits of your little one.  They can sit but can’t usually crawl away yet–perfect!

Meet six month old Townly:

Then comes the nine month sessions.  Sometimes baby has developed several new skills by then, which may include crawling or pulling up to stand.  Ah, the adventure begins. :)

Meet nine month old Embry:

And, finally, comes the one year session.  It is so fun for me to watch your babies grow during their first year and it’s always bittersweet when we come to the last session in the baby plan.  Family shots can be included at any session, although the main focus is always on the baby.

Meet one year old Luke:

My “Here I Grow” baby plan includes sessions at each of these stages–3, 6, 9, and 12 months.  You also receive an 8×10 from each session and a 10×20 storyboard with an image from each session upon completion of the plan.  Just email me if you would like more details about newborn sessions or the baby plan.

**Uppercase News**

I will be leaving for a beach vacation this weekend and will not be as readily available to answer phone call, emails, and order requests.  I will return on July 19th and respond to you upon my return.  You, of course, my reach me this week before I depart as well.  If you are waiting for your gallery, I will be working hard on those when I return as well.  Bear with me, as my family really needs me to make this an actual vacation with plenty of time spent away from the computer. :)

My schedule is full for July, August, September and October with the exception of newborns sessions and maternity sessions who purchase the Bellies to Babies Plan.  I am booking sessions for November and December.  If you would like items back in time for the holidays your session must be completed before Thanksgiving.  Please contact me if you would like a session in November or December.

I can’t wait for you all to see some of the holiday cards in the works for this year.  It is going to be a very Merry Christmas!

Incentive | Winston Salem Children Photographer

Every once in a while I get a photo of one of my own that makes me stop in my tracks.  This shot of Stella is one of those.  Having this memory of her “babyhood” forever captured is a great incentive for all the work I do.  And it’s exactly why I love to do that work for you also…so you can have memories of your “babies” forever captured as well.

This one is going BIG on my wall as a canvas by the way. :)

A few weeks ago I introduced you to some business changes taking place September 1st.  One of those changes that I am very excited about will be the order incentives that I am offering.  Today I am sharing some shots of one of those incentives.  After September 1st, all orders totaling $400 or more (after discounts and before taxes) will receive a 5×5 hardcover coffee table book featuring their favorite twenty images from their session.  Here are a few photos of one of these adorable mini coffee table books:

At Their Best | Winston Salem Family Photographer

There’s no doubt about it, Tanglewood Park is at it’s best during the summer months.  The grass is green, the trees are full of beautiful leaves, the arboretum is overflowing with flowers…if only they could make it so that it was a comfortable 75 degrees once you enter the gates! :)  It was truly worth tackling the heat for these families and they too were at their best.

Meet Cooper and his family.  Oh how excited I was when I caught of glimpse of his awesome red hair as his parents were removing him from his carseat!  He was just as sweet and he was handsome too and even picked me a flower (shhh, don’t tell the groundskeepers).

Meet big sister Jillian, little sister Allison and their parents.  I think Jillian may be destined to be on America’s Next Top Model, don’t you?  And being almost two, of course Allison made us work for it.  But really, the harder I work, the sweeter the reward.  This first shot of Allison is my reward for singing, dancing, collecting rocks, playing in the dirt, shaking maracas, generally making a fool of myself and working up quite a sweat. :)

Two | Winston Salem Children’s Photographer

Can you believe my sweet, little Stella is turning two today?!  It seems like just yesterday I was announcing my pregnancy on my blog…how could she possibly be TWO today?  Of course, if you ask Stella she will tell you she is four, just like Claire. :)  We will be celebrating Stella’s birthday on Sunday with a Sweet Shoppe party at the pool, but for today it’s just singing happy birthday with the girls (and maybe a bite of that lollipop!)

And I just have to share a few other sweeties I’ve had the pleasure of seeing in the studio recently.

Smarty Moms | Winston Salem Maternity Photographer

Tomorrow morning I will be featured as a “Smarty Mom” over on the Triad Smarty Pants blog so be sure to go over and check it out.  Just click on Triad Smarty Pants to take you right on over to their blog.  There will be an interview with information about me as a mom and a photographer…there will also be a little family photo of us!  If you have something to say about me or my business, be sure to leave a comment on their blog while you are there. :)  While you are visiting Triad Smarty Pants, check out all the great information for moms.  There’s everything from product reviews, list of restaurants with great deals for kids, the scoop on events around town and much more.

And here are a couple of moms-to-be that are definitely going to be “smarty moms.”  Both of these families are so excited to meet their new baby girls soon and I can’t wait to meet them as well!  These moms (and dads) were real troopers as we battled the afternoon thunderstorms to get a few outdoor shots.  For Sarah’s session in the red dress we went out after the rain and yes she is sitting on the wet, muddy ground.  For Amber’s session we snapped the last shots just as the rain was starting to fall.  It was worth getting a little wet and dirty I think!

Uppercase Photography Fall 2009 | Winston Salem, Greensboro Photographer

Hello all!  I am officially opening my calendar for the remainder of 2009, but please read all of the following information before emailing me. :)  I have so much exciting news for you so I am going to try to keep it as organized as possible in this post!  The past year has been amazing for Uppercase Photography!  The business has grown in ways I never could have even imagined three years ago when I was just starting out.  I am so blessed to LOVE what I do and I am truly appreciative that all of my wonderful clients allow me to capture their memories.  However, I also want to have some time left in the day to CREATE some memories with my own family.  We all know how quickly those little ones grow!  I have thought, researched, prayed, consulted with others…anything I could think of to get ideas of the best way for me to balance this wonderful career and my family.  I have decided upon a few exciting business changes that I will give the details about below.  I am pleased with the direction my work is taking and I feel like I am providing you, my clients, with beautiful quality photographs that you can treasure for years to come (I hope you feel the same!)  I have big dreams for where this journey is taking me in the future and, hey, you just can’t blame a girl for following her dreams, right?  So, on to the details which will all take effect September 2009:

1.  Online Proofing. The session fee of $150 plus tax will remain the same.  It will now include a $100 print credit toward your order and an online gallery showcasing your proofs for you and your family/friends for 14 days.  I have purchased an amazing new online ordering system that will be up and running in September.  It will allow you to order the entire line of Uppercase products, including collages, albums, etc. right from your online gallery.  It will also allow you to save the contents of your cart and come back later to finish your order.  This is important if you are always getting interrupted like me! :)  When your proofs are ready you will receive an email from me, providing you with your private password and full instructions on how to use the online ordering system.  It has so many great features and I know all of you are going to love it!  Printed proofs (with the Uppercase logo watermark) will be available for purchase after a minimum order of $200.

2.  Pricing. I will have a new price list that will take effect September 2009 as well.  The changes are pretty minimal–some items will remain the same, some will increase, and some will actually decrease in price.  I will gladly email you the new price list if you contact me.  You can use the “contact me” link above or send me an email.

3.  Order Incentives. I am so excited to introduce my new order incentives!  These will be exclusive Uppercase products that cannot be purchased separately, but only earned at certain spending points.  For orders totaling between $300-399 (after discounts and before sales tax is applied) you will receive a 5×5 brag book featuring 20 images of your choice from your session.  For orders totaling between $400-499 you will receive a beautiful 5×5 mini coffee table book featuring 20 images of your choice from your session.  For orders totaling $500 or more you will receive the 5×5 mini coffee table book AND a DVD slideshow of all the images of your session set to music.  I will have samples of these items in the studio and will share photos of them on my blog soon as well.  I can’t wait for you to see these wonderful gifts just for you!

4.  Thank you to all my wonderful clients. You know I love all of my clients…I truly do!  I am lucky to meet and work with some of the greatest parents and sweetest children and I want to thank all of you who have supported me and helped Uppercase Photography grow.  I love that you are always out there telling others about me and what I do and showing off your beautiful children!  As a thank you, all RETURNING Uppercase clients will receive a complimentary DVD slideshow of all of your session images when you book a session between September and December 2009.  If you have ever had a session with Uppercase Photography and you choose to book a session this fall, along with your order you will receive the complimentary DVD slideshow to treasure all of  the images from your session….my way of saying THANK YOU for being so wonderful!

If anyone has any questions at all or would like to book their fall session, please email me.

Now, I can’t post without some photos, so here are a few recent newborns.  It’s been a baby boom here in the studio recently and I LOVE it!

Celebrate | Winston Salem, Greensboro Photographer

The past week has been the annual week of celebration for me and my crew.  We celebrated my birthday last Thursday–turning 29 for the fourth year in a row was amazing!  We celebrated the impending end of the school year for all the girls with class picnics, field day, etc.  It’s always so fun to see them with their little friends making the rite of passage into summer.  On Saturday, Tory and I celebrated 11 years of marriage–wow, we are getting old!

Even with all of the celebrating, I managed to squeeze in a few of the sweetest little Uppercase cuties ever!

Meet Ava, she had just celebrated her 3rd birthday the day before our session.  Have you ever seen such a fabulous head of hair on a “just turned 3 year old?”  Ava and I had so much fun exploring Old Salem, finding flowers and crab apples along the way!
